Googles Mobile Friendly Update

April 13, 2015 By Trinity

Google's Mobile Friendly Update

Whether you want to or not, you are now under the thumb of Google’s Mobile-Friendly algorithm update. On April 21st, 2015, websites will not only be judged by their content, they will also be judged by their mobile-friendliness.

If your website is not mobile friendly, according to Google’s standards, you could take a huge hit in search traffic to your website.

What Does Mobile-Friendly Mean?

Mobile friendly design means that your website will change it’s arrangement when viewed in a mobile device. The arrangement is designed to make it easy to click on your links, read your text easily, and view your images correctly. But…

Don’t trust your own opinion!!! Don’t even trust a web developers opinion!! Google sets its own boundaries for mobile-friendly design, not you or any developer.

Just because you can see all of your website’s content when on a mobile device does NOT mean that your website is mobile-friendly.

To check if your website passes Googles guidelines, click on the button below to use Google’s website test tool.

How Will Google’s Mobile-Friendly Update Affect You?

If your website does not pass Google’s Mobile Friendly test, then you will suffer in mobile search results after the April 21st Deadline.

Take a look at your website analytics and see how much traffic is coming from mobile devices.

SideNote: Don’t know how much traffic is hitting your website? You should! Website analytics can have a great impact on what you do in the future.

What you stand to lose is all of that mobile traffic to your website.

Google is now taking into account the mobile-friendliness of your site as well as content, so anyone who DOES have a mobile friendly website will most likely jump over you in mobile search results. That’s not good!

Grab the Opportunity to Smash the Competition!

You don’t have to lose your search traffic! Google’s new mobile-friendly update is an opportunity, not a curse!

Find a Web Developer who truly understands mobile-friendly design, and get your website up to date with the searching future.

What a huge advantage you will have if your website IS mobile-friendly and your competition is not! Think about that!

Don’t wait on this. It is time to get ahead of the game, and Google has just laid out an opportunity for you! Grab it!
